Val Heffer – Legacy Interviews

July 26, 2022

Val Heffer is 96 years old. She’s still full of life. Her earliest memory is walking down the hall of her childhood home in Wairoa. She moved to London. She became a nurse. Eventually, she became matron at Ranfurly Hospital. She cared for war veterans there. One was a Boer War drummer boy. He was only nine years old when he enlisted. Val’s philosophy is simple. Life is what you make of it. When things get tough, you dig yourself out. Her stories will inspire you to embrace each day.
